Anyone who knows me is aware I have a soft spot for Céline. Pheobe Philo always gets it right in my opinion. I picked a few of my favorite looks I will be exploring next spring.
A little white, camel, black – yes, please.
Review from Vogue.com
Fashion season has come to an end and we are going through the shows to gather our favorite collections and trends. One that Is always likely to end up on everyone’s top three list is, as we all know, Céline. And that hasn’t changed this season. The Céline trend will for sure be copied by every fast fashion chain before the collection even hits the stores.
We are presented with a sophisticated mature yet playful color palette that goes in taupe tones but has some splashes of dusty pink and canary yellow. The “it” bag of the season; oversized leather scarf looking shopper. We can’t wait to get our hands on that one. Overall, Phoebe managed to leave us with a strong collection that is, according to herself all about comfort and optimism….
Philo gathered her audience close in and placed sleeping bags on benches to “give people comfort.” She said her research had reeled her back to the reason she’d been interested in joining Céline in the first place: the time before it had been “fashion” as we know it. “The advertisements of the late ’70s and early ’80s—this woman on the Avenue Foch in Paris. They had pleated skirts and big hairdos,” said Philo. “And the other thing was that they were quite a lot older and proud in their feeling about clothes.” She paused. “So I started looking at the designers of the early ’80s, pre-AIDS. I can almost not imagine what it felt like, to have that joyousness and freedom.” – By Sarah Mower via vogue.com
